Privacy Policy
FlatSixDynamics is built by a single independent developer in Germany. The app runs entirely on your device. We do not have a server. We do not have an analytics dashboard. We do not have a marketing pixel. There is, in the truest sense, nothing to collect.
This page exists because the App Store requires us to publish a privacy policy, and because we want you to know — explicitly, in plain English — what does and does not happen when you use FlatSixDynamics.
What We Collect
Nothing personal.
The flow solver runs on your device's GPU. Your speed-slider input never leaves your phone. No usage statistics, no telemetry, no advertising identifiers, no device fingerprint. We never see your name, email, IP address, or any identifier we can tie back to you.
Crash reports.
The app itself sends no crash reports or diagnostics, and it contains no third-party crash or analytics SDK. If you have chosen in iOS to share analytics with app developers (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple — not the app — collects crash logs under Apple's own privacy policy and may make anonymous crash statistics available to us. They contain nothing we can link to you, and we use them only to fix bugs. You can turn this off at any time in the iOS setting above.
If we ever add any diagnostics of our own, we will update this page and the App Store privacy information before that version is released.
What Apple Collects
When you download FlatSixDynamics from the App Store, Apple processes your purchase and download independently of us. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We see only the anonymous aggregate sales numbers Apple makes available in App Store Connect — no individual buyers, no names, no payment details.
What the App Stores Locally
The app keeps a tiny amount of state on your device, all in iOS's standard sandboxed App Storage:
- Whether you've seen the onboarding screen (a single yes/no flag).
- Cached precomputed flow states, so the simulation warm-starts when you change speed.
Both stay on your device. Both are deleted when you uninstall the app. Neither is synced to iCloud unless Apple's system-level iCloud backup is enabled by you for all apps — in which case Apple, not we, holds the encrypted backup.
Children
FlatSixDynamics is rated 4+. The app is safe for all ages. We collect no data, so we collect no data from children either.
This Website
This website has no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no embedded content from third parties. It uses no third-party font service and loads no scripts from other servers. The Instagram link in the footer is a plain link; nothing is loaded from Instagram until you click it.
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service provided by GitHub B.V., Prins Bernhardplein 200, 1097 JB Amsterdam, Netherlands, and GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, GitHub's servers automatically process technical data your browser sends, such as your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested and your browser type, in server log files. This is necessary to deliver the site and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website.
GitHub may process this data in the United States. GitHub is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection (Art. 45 GDPR). How long GitHub keeps these logs is governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement; we have no access to them.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you, and delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed for that purpose, unless statutory retention periods apply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
Your Rights Under GDPR
Because we collect no personal data, the standard GDPR / DSGVO rights (access, rectification, deletion, portability, restriction, objection) have nothing to act on. If that changes — if a future version of the app introduces any feature that handles personal data — this page will be updated before that feature ships, and you will be notified inside the app before any such feature can be enabled.
If you believe we have processed your data unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your member state. In Germany, this is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz of the federal state where you reside.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this policy, the change will be visible in the app's “About” panel and dated at the top of this page.
